2016 is a time of hard work for PAIiIZ. It resulted in the announcement and launch of a number of strategic investment projects in the industrial and service segments. And this projects were among this year's nominees for the PAIiIZ awards that each year are awarded in six categories. - In 2016 we acquired for Poland investments worth EUR 1.3 billion and helped to create 12 000 new jobs - said the president of PAIiIZ Tomasz Pisula.
Competition for the award for the investment of the highest value was fierce this year. Among the nominees were: Polish manufacturer of wood-based panels “Tanne”, a manufacturer of aircraft turbine blades “Safran Transmission Systems Poland”, as well as carrying on significant investment projects with a value exceeding EUR 1 billion “LG Chem Wroclaw Energy” and “Mercedes” that finally won in this category. “Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland”’s President Andreas Schenkel received the award from the Deputy Minister of Development Tadeusz Kościński.
Both companies nominated in the above mentioned category: “Tanne” and “LG Chem Wroclaw Energy”, as well as the manufacturer of automotive wiring “Borges” and “CH2M Polish Service” were selected to the semifinals for the award in the category of "Investment, which generated the most jobs in 2016." And “CH2M Poland Services”, the company that implemented the project in the area of modern business services, was the one that received the PAIiIZ award. Krakow was chosen by the American investor as the location for the investment worth EUR 1.5 million. The company will employ up to 800 professionals who will create together with them the Global Engineering and Designing Center, as well as the Shared Services Centre.
The Plan for the Responsible Development pays a special attention to the issue of supporting of innovative entities. For that reason PAIiIZ rewards investors with outstanding implementation of modern technologies. This year the award in this category went to “LG Chem Wroclaw Energy” and it was handed to the representatives of the company by the Deputy Minister of Development Jadwiga Emilewicz. To meet the growing demand for electric cars the Korean giant has chosen Poland to produce batteries and components for future cars employing at the same time nearly 730 people in the project. For the award in this category the British investor “Red Embedded Cosulting”, implementing in Poland the project in the area of R&D for digital television, rivaled.
Strengthening gradually the support offered to Polish companies interested in foreign expansion PAIiIZ, already the second consecutive year, rewards Polish companies having the successes abroad. The nomination for the award in the category "The dynamics of expansion" received two Polish foreign investors: “Gamedesire” and “Eskom IT”. The activity in the IT sector and a selection of London as the location of their investment are the factors that are common for both of companies. The award went to the second one, namely “Eskom IT”, which in the British capital opened its branch responsible for the administration of the IT infrastructure for customers. The company “Goshico”, manufacturer of bags and the laureate of the exhibition "Designed in Poland", organized by PAIiIZ in Bucharest November this year, was among the companies awarded.
Every year PAIiIZ hands also special prizes. In 2016 the award for its activities in Poland was awarded to “3M”, which is present in Poland practically from the very moment of transformation. Today the company employs 2.9 thousand of workers in several Polish cities, including Wroclaw, where the corporation operates the largest manufacturing center in the world. Handing out the award to “3M Poland”’s Director General Sebastian Arani Deputy Minister of Development Adam Hamryszczak underlined the company’s achievements. The special award for the entity operating in the business related sectors went – this time – to the Foundation ProProgressio’s President, Wiktor Doktor. The Foundation received the award for the promotion of knowledge about the sector of modern business services in Poland, as well as for the promotion of Poland among global investors in this sector, the investors whose projects dominate in the PAIiIZ portfolio.
